In Mathew 9:20-20, there was a woman with the issuue of blood. she had suffered for 12 years ,i mean 12 whole years . in the old statment in Leviticus 15 Menstration was considered unclean not as a sin, but as part of ritual purity laws . So during this time of the month women were isolated. because the imprity of the monthly period would last seven days and any who would touch her would be unclean. So imagine this woman had the same condition for 12 years. I can imagine the pain suffering, discrimination, being an outcast, shame, reproach, low self esteem etc she had to endure for those years. The Bible details that this woman had exhausted all mean there,i imagine all physician herbalists you name it and no one could help her. When we read further in this scripture, it details that as Jesus christ of Nazareth was on his way to heal the sick daughter of a man who had pleaded with him, there was a large crowd following him. When this woman saw Jesus, she said to herself if only i could touch his cloth, i could be healed.Oh this kind of faith we all need, so against all odds and resistence remember she wasnt allowed in society because she was considered ceremonially unclean.Despite the large crowds that were following Jesus, she ran so hard and touched his cloth. The bible details that as soon she touched Jesus power went out of him. Jesus turned back and asked who had touched him. His discples told him that there was a large crowd almost everyone was touching him. But Jesus responded and said to them that thee touch was diffrent. The woman identified herself and Jesus told her ” Daughter , your faith has healed you go in peace and be freed from your suffering. Well this is the story of our lives .My or your issue may not be of Blood but we all at some point in life have issues or are going through issues that we have exhausted all means but cant seem to overcome or find a solution. No one or nothing seems to help,we have have come to the end of ourselves.And thats the point there are things that only God can turn around for he says in Luke 18:27 ” What is impossible for is possible for God”.The lesson we can learn from this womans story is sometimes we have to come at the end of our selves before Jesus can intervene so we can realise that there is nothing we could have done in our own power so when we finally get the long waited break through we can give God all the Glory and honour. Jesus did not die on the cross for you to carry the burden on your own .”cast your burden on the Lord and he will sustain Psalm” 55:22. For Jesus says also in Mathew 11:28-30 ” come to me all those who are weary and burdened, and i will give you rest”
